2. Not being active outside of class – Do you have a child who shows up for classes and nothing much more? If the answer is yes, this is bad on different fronts. By being active in activities outside of the class, your child learns to work with others as a team. They also can bond with kids their age. Last, being active is something colleges like as they consider those to admit. Whether arts; sports or more activities, boarding schools have a lot to offer outside of class.
3. Teachers are quite important – Has your kid not connected with some teachers in junior high or high school? If so, this can be one of the main reasons they are having difficulty in getting good grades. The right pros teaching your children make a big difference now and down the road. Take a look at the teachers at some boarding schools you might think of sending your child to. When you see the resumes, you might well find what has been missing in your child’s schooling up to now.
4. Selecting the right college – When the time comes for your kid to go to college, will the family make the right call? Some kids like to stick close to home when they go to college. This may mean a nearby university or college or even a community college. For others, getting away and having a new change of scenery is what they are searching for. Like you did in finding the right boarding school, make sure plenty of effort goes to locating a college. Not only is your money on the line, but you want your child in a college environment where they will thrive and be safe. Unless they commute from home to classes, you do not want to be worrying about how they are doing living at college.
