There is no doubt that technology is making improvements in your life every day. You can communicate with other people across the globe with the use of cell phones, cook your food with microwave ovens and connect to the Internet using Wi-Fi. Most people rely on technological tools to do their work, finish their school projects and for their personal enjoyment. But no matter how technology helps you in many ways, there are invisible problems that could be hurting you without you knowing it.
Electromagnetic Radiation or EMR is one of these invisible problems that can put your health at risk. You cannot detect it with your naked eye but it is always there. It is all around you; at your home, school, vehicle, on buses, in planes and restaurants. Your devices such as tablets, laptops and cell phones create an electromagnetic field (EMF); the same goes for your domestic appliances including microwave oven, blender, television, hairdryer and cordless telephone. Exposure to EMFs can affect your body in harmful ways, so it is essential for you to know the steps you can take to minimise the negative effects they can have on you and your family.
EMF Dangers
What happens when you are exposed to, and unprotected against, electromagnetic fields? According to studies, EMFs may cause cancer. It is one of the risk factors for childhood leukemia and could increase the possibility of glioma, a type of tumor that develops in the brain and spinal cord. It can affect the functionality of your brain and long-term exposure to EMFs can cause brain cell damage. Cell phone radiation could also cause symptoms of dementia and may lead to the disappearance of antioxidants in your saliva. Other side effects reported are sleep disorders, stress, allergies, headaches, dizziness, anxiety, fatigue, chest pain and irregular heartbeat.
Protect Yourself
It is better to take extra precautions to be safe, rather than be sorry later. There is no way for you to avoid electromagnetic radiation because it surrounds you every day but you can reduce the possible dangers it can bring. How can you protect yourself? There are simple things you can start doing today to prevent excessive levels of EMFs. Begin by keeping your laptops, computers and cell phones at a distance. You can also use special fabrics and paints that can help safeguard your home. Unplug electronic appliances when not in use. Use speakerphones as a substitute for Bluetooth headsets. You can also wear an EMF pendant or smart patch to protect you from the frequencies. Always eat foods with a high oxygen radical absorbance capacity (ORAC) that can help heal damage in your DNA caused by EMFs. These foods include cruciferous vegetables, walnuts, dates, cilantro and blueberries.
